Curtains can create an impression of luxury in all rooms even those decorated in keeping with today’s subtler taste. They are usually floor-length and full, often held back with a fabric tie or cord. They may be surmounted by a pelmet, or by an arrangement of swags and drapes and sometimes decorated with braids and trimmings.
